About the Authors...
Aubrey – Aubrey graduated from Illinois State in 2019 with a bachelor’s degree in Integrated Marketing Communication’s and a minor in Mass Media. Since graduating, she has worked in the Event Management, Dining, and Hospitality department at Illinois State. Currently, Aubrey is working towards her Master of Business Administration with certifications in Business Analytics and Organizational Leadership. While working and completing graduate courses she is an active member in the Graduate Student Advisory Council at Illinois State where she collaborates with other graduate students and faculty to help make the ISU Graduate School better for everyone.
Bill – Bill first graduated from Illinois State as an undergrad majoring in Insurance & Organizational Leadership in 2013. Since then, he has held multiple roles within the insurance/financial services industry including functions such as: sales, operations, and corporate strategy. Bill currently resides in Bloomington, IL, holds his Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation, and is pursuing his master's degree & Business Analytics certificate in the evenings.
Elise – Elise graduated from Illinois State University in 2020 with a double major in International Business and Integrated Marketing Communications. While attending Illinois State for her undergraduate degree, Elise studied abroad in Panama City, Panama while working for 20th Century Fox Films as a global marketing intern. She has also studied abroad in Italy and Greece and has had 2 other internships in accounting and market research. Elise is currently working on obtaining a business analytics certificate as she completes her MBA degree.
Preet – Preet graduated from Illinois State University in 2019 with a degree in International Business and Marketing. While being an ISU student, she studied a semester abroad in Seoul, South Korea and a year in Paderborn, Germany, where she obtained another degree in Business Administration and Economics. Currently, she is working on her master’s degree in Business Administration and Business Analytics certificate.
Katie – Katie graduated from Illinois State University (ISU) with a double major in Finance and Insurance with a minor in Financial Planning in 2014. She has worked at COUNTRY Financial for the past 7 years in multiple corporate roles most recently moving to Denver, Colorado to open her own insurance agency. She holds the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM (CFP®), Chartered Financial Consultant® (ChFC®), and Chartered Life Underwriter® (CLU®) designations, as well as multiple industry licenses. She is currently pursuing her Master's in Business Administration at ISU.

Course Overview: Beginner Level & approx. 11 hours to complete
As a group we found this Coursera course to be comprehensive, flexible and usable. The professor was knowledgeable and professional and was able to adapt to all learning styles. Although some principles behind this seem complex, the instructor ensures to keep his examples simple and easy to understand. The videos used also provide several images and illustrations to help the learner comprehend what the instructor is explaining (see image).
This Coursera course would be ideal and recommended for anybody (MBA student or working professional) who is looking to learn more about analyzing social networks.
